Finance Logix Visual Advisor product incorporates several advanced features into a retirement, in-retirement and asset allocation planning module. Client data is shared between the modules so that there is no need to re-enter the information in the core and/or plug-in modules. The Insurance, Education and Estate planner plug-in modules can be added individually to customize the product.
The following are a few key features that are available in the Visual Advisor product:
Most retirement planning tools that are available today use a fixed rate of return to calculate total savings amount at retirement. This calculation is fine as a starting point, but needs to be refined to provide investors with a better estimate of their retirement outlook. Because the fixed rate of return calculation relies on a single average estimate of the rate of return, there is a possibility to underestimate the amount of savings and investments required at retirement.
The Monte-Carlo model can evaluate potential shortfall situations by applying standard statistical techniques and calculate the probability of achieving the retirement goal. Graphically show projection of client savings into the future. With the simulation calculate hundreds of random scenarios based on the historical performance of the asset class mix in each retirement account.
The efficient frontier model can help you choose a portfolio that gives you the greatest possible rate of return for the given risk tolerance.
It is a given that volatility of your investment portfolio will increases your risk of loss of principal, so all other things being equal, you would like to minimize volatility in your portfolio. Of course the problem is that there is another effect that works in the opposite direction: if you limit yourself to low-risk securities, you'll be limiting yourself to investments that tend to have low rates of return. So what you really want to do is include some higher growth, higher risk securities in your portfolio, but combines them in a smart way, so that some of their fluctuations cancel each other out. (In statistical terms, you're looking for a combined standard deviation that's low, relative to the standard deviations of the individual securities.) The result should give you a high average rate of return, with less of the harmful fluctuations.
Users may provide just a few inputs to get a resulting projection or fill out a detailed worksheet to receive a more precise recommendation. A user may, choose to go through a more graphical "Interview" that guides the user by helping to learn more about retirement planning.
The Financial Model will calculate the most tax-efficient way to withdraw money from various accounts or let user specify the Withdrawal Order manually.
This feature allows accommodating a situation when, for example, a spouse takes a couple of years off to be with a child or if there is a significant one time salary increase after finishing graduate school, etc.
For example, a client may have two different 401(k) accounts and 3 different IRA accounts.
Finance Logix offers the ability to include custom presentations and illustrations. Advisors are able to create client specific presentations, and seamlessly incorporate them within the application. This allows the presentation to appear as a component in conjunction with the planning modules.
Allows advisors to easily create various plans using different mixes of assumptions, compare and save them for future reference. Advisors may apply various custom Asset Allocations as well as fine-tune other client assumptions and instantly show the impact of these changes to the client on the screen.
Visual Advisor is designed to integrate smoothly with other interfaces such as CRM, portfolio management, tracking, record-keeping database, asset allocation, reporting, and many other third party systems.
